WP3 - Patient-Specific Virtual Models
For the creation of the Patient-Specific Virtual Models an essential task is the modelling nerves from a biomechanical and electrical standpoint. For the multi-physics modelling the Open Source "SOFA framework" is used and a key element of this modelling is to account for the impact of soft tissue deformation onto the nerve location, as well as the definition of tissue characteristics for electric impulse propagation, which can lead to a nerve stimulus. The aim is that the models include anatomical and mechanical properties of the tissues, as well as computational models compatible with real-time simulation. Patientspecific data will be inferred from various imaging modalities. Models created in this WP will be used as components for the RA simulator and for the RAAs system in WP4.
